Titanfall brings new features to the video game market

Titanfall is a futuristic sci-fi game that takes place in a human inhabited region in space known as The Frontier.

When humans left Earth for the Frontier, large companies funded the exploration and construction of militias. Many of the companies built 20-foot manned robots for commercial uses such as: cargo transfer, space exploration, salvaging spaceships, and rescue missions. These machines were called Titans.

One company, known as Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC), controls a majority of colonies in The Frontier. In the colonies, rebel groups constantly fight against IMC and try to wrest control of The Frontier.

The game is based on the war between IMC and rebels. Some of the Titan pilots were trained to use these titans for combat. In the game you play as a Titan pilot trained for war.

While playing the game Titanfall, I noticed that there were a few key features that are different compared to traditional features in games such as Call of Duty.

The most enjoyable features include double jumping and wall running. Jumping on to the back of titans is a helpful maneuver when trying to bring down an enemy titan.

I thought the eject feature came in handy when my Titan would be on the verge of exploding after sustained enemy damage. The soldier bots are another unique feature that bring more life to the game. These bots are computer controlled teammates or enemies that fight in the battle.

During the majority of the online matches, I ran on walls and double-jumped to the top of buildings so that I could pick off enemies from a higher standpoint.

However, I realized it was difficult to achieve the required number of kills in order to call in a Titan for support. I consistently died before I could obtain a kill streak.

Despite its few flaws, Titanfall is fantastically constructed, the multiplayer maps were perfectly sized. I always had enough room to escape from the firefight and I never needed to travel across the map to get into the battle. “It is a multiplayer game. Everyone plays it for the multiplayer,” Anthony Valverde said.

In total, Titanfall is an exhilarating game that offers new features to the video game market. It is not perfect, but it is one of a kind. I could play it for hours and hours and I definitely recommend it to someone who is looking for a unique first-person shooter game.

What are some key features that make Titanfall so unique?

Anthony Valverde: “You can double jump and wall run.”

Spencer Crosby: “I love the movements and the fact that you are able to double jump and wall run. One of my favorite things is the fact that you are able to aim down the sight. That was one of my pet peeves with Halo. Titan fall is like combining my two favorite games; Call of Duty and Halo. It’s amazing.”

Stephen O’Loughlin: “For portions of the game you are fighting other players from inside of a robot.”

Solomon Thomas: “Besides free running on the walls, getting a giant mech which would be dropped from orbit. In the mech you can generally destroy a whole team, If you [are] a good player.”

What are some flaws in the game?

Anthony Valverde: “It is a multiplayer game. Everyone plays it for the multiplayer.”

Spencer Crosby: ” There are not many flaws, but I wish there were more guns, and ways to customise them.”

Stephen O’Loughlin: “There is a huge learning curve.”

Solomon Thomas: “There is not enough progression in weapons, and it is a first generation of the game, so there is not enough gear to unlock.”

If you could keep or get rid of anything from the game, what would it be?

Anthony Valverde: “I would keep the guns, the double jump, and the wall run. I think I would have a gamemode that got rid of the titans and only have the pilots.”

Spencer Crosby: ” I would not change anything besides the guns.”

Solomon Thomas: “I would get rid of the lacking of weapons to unlock.”

If you could rate the game from a scale of 1 to 5, what would you rate it?

Anthony Valverde: ” I would rate it a solid 4.”

Spencer Crosby: ” I would rate it a 4.75.”

Stephen O’Loughlin: “I would rate it a 4.”

Solomon Thomas: “ I would give it a solid 4 stars with a you should buy this game.”

Why would you rate it this?

Anthony Valverde: ” It is a unique game. I brings a lot of new features and elements to the table and it is from the same producers of Call of Duty.”

Spencer Crosby: “I really love the game. The only complaint I would have would be the loadout.”

Stephen O’Loughlin: “I enjoyed it, but it was not too amazing.”

Solomon Thomas: “I would rate it this because I enjoy the game, but the fact that some servers are constantly offline and how there are no private servers takes some score off.”
