Some of us might have been hearing about the new television sitcom series, “WandaVision” on Disney+. But, what is there to know about the show?
The show takes place after the “Avengers: Endgame” movie, and the main characters, Wanda Maximoff and Vision attempt to settle down in a typical suburban neighborhood which presents the show as a sitcom like the popular old television series, “I Love Lucy”. They get married and try to live a normal life. Despite this— being Marvel characters who still have their powers— things don’t settle down as normally as they wish it would be able to.
Each day brings a new surprise for these two supers and some things are beyond expected, like how each day warps into a new decade. The show originally started in the 1950’s with diners, drive-in theaters, sock hops, poodle skirts and more! Their first day in the town they moved into called, “Westview” was spent in this ’50s time frame getting to know their neighbors, but as the day went on, it gradually got weirder. Not only were their powers glitching, but the others in the town were also acting strange. The next few days were transformed into the ’60s, then ’70s, ’80s and next the 1990’s with the release of the sixth episode.
Watching WandaVision for the first time definitely had me confused on some things. Within the first two episodes, I had absolutely no idea what was going on, why things were so weird and why Wanda and Vision were even in Westview. The switching time frames also confused me because I was wondering why they didn’t just keep it in the ’50s. Of course the other time frames were just as cool as the original one, but I was curious as to why they were changing. While watching episode three, things started clicking but in episode four and five, it makes complete sense. I’m not going to spoil anything, so if you want to find out why this is happening, then watch the show yourself, I highly suggest it.
WandaVision was overall a great show, but I am very intrigued to see what happens in episode six. Of course there are those who may not have enjoyed WandaVision as much as they thought they would. But personally, I did enjoy this series and I am excited for it to continue.
