Due to the popularity of the new Star Wars movie, Disney announced on January 10 that they will be constructing a Star Wars Land in April of 2016. The man in charge of the whole thing will be an Imagineer named Scott Trowbridge. Now while many fans are already expressing excitement, the attractions will not open for another year or so. But Disney has not kept us in the dark and have released news on what some of the attractions might be: For example, people will be able to pilot the Millennium Falcon. They also will be updating “Space Mountain” into “Hyperspace Mountain” at Disneyland in Anaheim, but nothing will change other than the fact that the ride will be more Star Wars theme.

In addition to to these new attractions, Trowbridge has said that he and his team are making the Star Wars Land as realistic as possible. From visiting stores, eating at restaurants and all the way to meeting your favorite character, entering Star Wars Land will be akin to stepping inside the movies.

Speaking of food, Disney has announced that they will be placing the bar from Tatooine in Star Wars Land, which has made people wonder if there will be an appearance of alcohol sales in Disneyland. Since most people know that they already sell it at Disney World and California Adventure, it would not be much of a shock if alcohol will be sold in Disneyland.

Disney has also said in the Los Angeles Times that Star Wars Land will be placed behind Big Thunder Mountain and everything else behind it will be removed. On January 10 many of the attractions in Frontierland were closed down—some for the time being, and some for good. The Big Thunder Ranch, for example, has been taken out to make room for the upcoming expansion. In Disney World, Star Wars Land will be placed in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, leaving their Frontierland untouched.

In Tomorrowland, Innoventions will been changed into the Star Wars Launch Bay where customers can play Star Wars video games and buy souvenirs. Players that visit Star Wars Launch Bay will be able to play Disney Infinity.

People of all ages will have blast at what is to come to Disney Parks.
