An Australian family found a 132-year-old message in a bottle that was part of a German experiment about ocean currents in 1866. The discovery broke the previous record of oldest message in a bottle, which was 108 years. Read more here.

10 years ago, a South Asian girl’s risk of getting married as a child was about 50 percent, but now it is 30 percent.Globally, one of every five women is married before they turn 18 years old. A decade ago, the rate had been one of every four, UNICEF said on Tuesday.  Read more here.

Frances McDormand’s Academy Awards Oscar trophy was stolen while she was attending the Governor’s Ball. The thief, Terry Bryant, is currently in jail with his bail set at $20,000, McDormand and her trophy have since been reunited.   Read more here.

After a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Oregon raised its minimum age to purchase a gun in their stores to 21 years old in the wake of the recent Florida school shooting, they are being sued by an irate 20-year-old. The store is being prosecuted for age discrimination, which is illegal in the state of Oregon. Read more here.
