The Death of Queen Elizabeth II

After 70 years on the throne, Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch passed away on the afternoon of Sept. 8th, 2022 at the age of 96. She had been placed on medical observation earlier that day and the rest of the royal family had arrived at Balmoral Castle prior to her passing. Charles, the new king of England, and Camilla, the queen consort, will remain at Balmoral Castle on Thursday evening, according to a statement by Buckingham Palace.
