GTA V finally arrives for PC

Why are you reading this?
GTA V, clogging the front page of my Steam Store (with a dirty, 25% off barbarian named Attila).

On September 17, 2013, Rockstar Games released the fifth installment of their popular Grand Theft Auto series, notorious as the game where anyone can commit all the crimes they want without actually going to jail. This city-destroying simulation machine soon became one of the Rockstar’s most popular releases — on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles.

Grand Theft Auto V never made it to PC until the port arrived on April 14, 2015, generating assumable truckloads of cash with its $60 price tag and allowing anyone with a (somewhat high-end) computer to run over every NPC in sight.

Without a smooth port, or transfer of files from a console-bound video game to a computer, the PC’s version will run slowly and with numerous bugs and glitches. GTA V’s reviews on Steam, however, praise the quality of it. A gamer nicknamed Sparky Bio wrote in his review, “GTA V is so optimized[,] running on low settings causes problems while running on high settings fixes it” — which some may find rather relieving, given the multiple instances of port-ruined games.

The game is ranking “Very Positive” on Steam’s scale, with 21,514 positive reviews against 4,887 negative ones.

So, if you’re a PC gamer, indulging in this maniacal sandbox looks to be worth your time. Virtual helicopters are waiting for someone to crash them into buildings!
